Joe "Matt" Mathews, Jr.

Joe “Matt” Mathews was born and raised in Bulloch County and is proud to be a 5th generation member of the Bulloch County business community. Matt has a diverse legal background ranging from fisheries regulation and environmental law to real property, and medical malpractice. After focusing on complex civil litigation and trial practice for several years, Matt transitioned his practice to transactional law and real estate. Now, Matt focuses his practice on real estate closings and other property law, as well as business formation, business transactions, probate, estate planning, gun trusts and firearms law. 

Matt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Marine Affairs and Policy (with a Minor in Economics) from the University of Miami in 2005, and a master of arts in marine affairs and policy from the University of Miami’s Rosensteil School of Marine and Atmospheric Science in 2007. Matt attended law school at the University of Florida and graduated (with honors) in 2010 with a certificate in Environmental and Land Use Law. Matt is an active member of the Georgia and Florida Bars, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
